Traditional Media
I studied Journalism & Media Studies at Rhodes University in South Africa and went on to work in the industry as a radio producer at 567 CapeTalk. I've also experienced the other side of the coin, having assisted with Public Relations in a number of subsequent roles. This has involved building relationships with journalists, responding to media queries, and issuing press releases. I've also worked alongside veteran broadcasters to assist with media training workshops – providing insights on how to improve TV and radio interview techniques.

Current Times monthly newsletter
The Two Ocean Aquarium's mailer is a mix of news on what staff and volunteers have gotten up to recently, important updates to the building or exhibits, marine conservation news, upcoming events and the promotion of competitions and marketing campaigns.
Edinburgh World Heritage quarterly newsletter
Preparing this newsletter consisted of either writing or editing the Director's Notes, and reporting back on the organisation's latest activities and events. Strong calls-to-action for membership signup or donations accompanied stories of the charity's impact on the city.
Energy efficiency project press release
A press release for Edinburgh World Heritage's launch of an innovative new project to improve the energy efficiency of the Canongate Housing development, alongside undertaking vital conservation work on the architecturally important listed buildings.
Crowdfunded Georgian Gardens book press release
A press release for Edinburgh World Heritage on the release of John Byrom's handbook on maintaining some of the most treasured green spaces in Edinburgh that are also an important part of the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site.
